Testimony of Rita Havenar Conversion and Testimony of Rita Havenar
As an 8 year old girl in a preacher's family, I helped Mother wash the Lord's supper glasses (yes they were not disposible) on Saturday getting ready for the Sunday Service. I was not allowed to take the Lord's Supper because I was not Saved. Then on Sunday afternoon, I helped wash them again. I just knew I was missing out on something that the rest of my family had and I wanted it too. That night when the invition was given, I went forward and my Uncle Ray said, Well here is little Rita coming to be saved and we had prayer. I was a very emotional child and I cried, so I thought that was all there was to a conversion experience. All through the years I have said the right things, acted as a christian some of the time, had a lot of people fooled, my self included, but not God and I had doubts at times.
On October 1, 2009 I was reading Matthew 7:21-23, The Lord said, " Rita, thats you". I just wilted, because I couldn't believe it for a moment, then I said, "Lord, I don't want that to be me, I want you as my Lord and Savior, please", just then a peace came over me. I was talking out loud even though I was the only one in the room. I praised the Lord all day long. Called my husband at work and said,"Honey, I was just saved", He said "Who is this, a wrong number?"
I hope this helps someone who reads it to search their heart and know for sure that you are saved.
